Minutes of Junta Meeting

April 9, 2002

- We're looking okay for Scarlet Middle School fields. There's a chance that there wont be a soccer tourney there this year! :)

- We still don't have an idea about how much it would cost to improve the field. Jim Berry is still investigating this. We would need approval before any work was done. Fortunately, Tim is on some sort of important committee, so he might be able to move some roadblocks!

- Mike Reiskind and Janine Konkel are leading the pre-fab league, which will be separate from the other divisions. It looks like it's going to happen on Tuesdays, and may be at other locations like last year. Of course, if the competitive league, which is also on Tuesday, is small in size, both leagues might be able to share Scarlet.

- Mike and Janine are busy recruiting teams for this league. They will determine exact gender rules.

- T-shirts will run approximately the same price as last year. We are going to have more colors this year, and order enough for 75% of the league.

- Banfield's is on board for sponsorship, and their name will grace the back of the shirts like last year.

- We're hoping to have the party after the May 25 hat tournament at Banfields, and maybe have the rec league captains meeting at that time. This would occur about 5pm on May 25. We may need to get an alternate date for those captains who are out of town for the holiday.

- May 23rd is the date for the competitive league draft. Brian will write a proposal for the draft process and present it at the next junta meeting.

- League registration will begin May 1 and end May 18.

- Sarah is finished with the flier. These will be distributed to volunteer flier-hangers at the hat tournament tomorrow (April 20).
